From Having Faith

Q: What is her purpose/audience in writing this? How does she get her message across? Would you consider this writing-as-activism? Why or Why not?

A: The author's purpose is to arouse human not to contaminate the environment and suggest parents use the bottle milk instead of breast milk for infants. Her audience is the public, but especially focus on the couples with babies. In this essay, she successfully draw people's attention by indicates that the top of food chain is infants. And then she shows some statistics the bad effects which breastfed cause in United States. In addition, the author writes her own sense for the contamination of the environment and talks about the organic pollution such as chloride or dioxin. I think this essay is an good example of activism-writing.
